Fall/Winter Yarn Tasting 2023

We've had a great time the last couple of nights going over the new Spring / Summer lines from Berroco. If you'd like to watch our Virtual Yarn Tasting again (or missed it), you can find it here:

As a summary, I've put all the information below. This will give you the basic information for each of the new yarns and links to Berroco's website pages where you can peruse all the colourways and patterns books (All of the patterns are available as a PDF book or individual patterns through their website or Ravelry.)

Make sure to head over to our Sweet Yarnies Facebook Group (Sweet Yarnies | Facebook) where we'll be discussing our next make-a-long. And stop by the store to check out all the samples, pattern books and ask me any questions.

Mistico

Mistico

Brushed alpaca creates a soft halo while the cotton, wool and nylon core seem to illuminate flecks of color in our new yarn Mistico. The fabric created with this yarn is soft and light but retains a good stitch definition.

Talara

Talara

Talara is a delightfully lush and charming mid-weight yarn made of 100% llama. It’s soft to the touch and easy to work with, has a bouncy texture, and creates a fabric that has next-to-skin comfort.

Carousel

Carousel

A lightweight and colorful yarn with yardage that goes on and on, Carousel features color flowing all through the plies giving off an overall balanced look. It works up beautifully in bold textures like entrelac and big crochet motifs.

Question about the Talara yarn. Does it hold its shape or does it stretch and sag like alpaca?
